Old ors.com stickers peeling off??? Time for a new and refreshed update??? With all the success with the banner design competition, it time for y'all to come up with a new ors.com sticker!!!:bcool:

Plan is to work with Rallydecals.com and get some new stickers in the works with some really cool options. With Rallydecals we can have; color, left and right, inside or outside mounting options. The downside with them is they don't ship international. But, being the nice guy that I am, I'm willing to receive the orders and forward them on as needed.:) Sales of the stickers will benefit the forum!!!

Rules are simple; you've got until Oct. 1st to come up with your most awesome design. At that time we'll have a public poll to decide the winner. We need to stay away from anything that might be a copyright or trademark infrigement. I know the majority are Forester drivers, but I think we need something that is not Forester specific.

As an example; check out the sf.com sticker. Also, I really like the 'theme' of my yotatech sticker, but in reality I don't like the sticker.

So let's see what you've got!!! The very existence of the universe is depending on you!!!;)

Other admin/mods please chime in with other input regarding rules/regs goes, also, Silke, if you know what sort of format rallydecals needs that might be helpful.

Here is an example of the old style as a full windscreen decal.

I would suggest, perhaps something not too different and something a little smaller.

I would be willing to organise a Australian distribution of stickers if that assists at all.

I knocked up a batch for the GPS Australia Forum a little while ago and I was very impressed with the quality. They would be the same as the examples above.

Thanks, I was going to PM you about that, might be a big help if we get a big initial order. After that if there are onsie-twosie orders I can post them direct.

My principal request would be that the new stickers make it easier to read what our site is about. OFFROADSUBARUS.com is tough to read. OffroadSubarus.com or even "Offroad Subarus.com" (with initial caps and space) would be easier to read.

Carlo's sticker is nice, but obviously on the large side for most. The two old styles, OTOH, were too small to read from anywhere but close up. So I would agree that something slightly larger would be nice.

Last thing, in terms of themes or a logo. I would love something with a reference to Australia. Yes, this site has a global audience. But off-roading in Subarus arguably originated in Australia. Even Subaru recognized this with the naming of the Outback. So I'd like to see a theme related to Down Under, e.g. an outline of the Australian continent or maybe even a Kangaroo.

What we can do, to differentiate origin, is have and outline of Australia or USA as a background with the words OFFROADSUBARUS.com running through the middle.

This would only work as a smaller sticker version only though.

When I finish re-building my PC and get away from this crap laptop, I'll start to play around with some visual examples.

Thoughts and comments...

I prefer smaller stickers, big banner windscreen stickers don't do it for me - and it's my partners daily driver, so she has some input into what I stick on my car... - hmmm, might have to rethink that

Here's the smaller old one (sourced from Tony, ages ago) and some others that I run at the moment...

Maybe some inspiration there...

If people like smaller stickers, how about a two-liner? Like this... (kind of)

What a great idea. Now I will just have to get my thinking cap on & see if I can come up with something. :raz: :ugeek: :Bananacomputer: :egeek: :raz:

Just for the sake of argument:iconwink:, the US Pacific Northwest folks have been off-roading Subarus for a long time. Really hard to say where it originated, I'll bet as soon as Subaru introduced their 4wd folks all over were 'testing the limits'.

I do kind of like the 'map' theme, could be kind of cool. Just keep in mind, nothing is out of the question, and we're all going to choose the best one.:)

Combining two of ggfr's stickers, it could be the outline of a suby FWDing over the words
OFFROADSUBARUS.com.

To be a bit clearer, have the a simple 2D pic of a suby with its front wheel purched above the '.com' and its rear wheel in line with the writing...?

Here is a version of a banner that was done as a trial before Tony W settled on the final font for the bulk numbers he did.

Sorry about the thumbnails, I havent worked out how load larger pics into the forum on the new site yet.

Another thought for a slogan, along the lines of 'Our wourld IS flat', I am more than happy for my sig. to be used.

Flat four, not flat footed.

I have had a lot of comments on this in the past on ORS v1.0

Beigewagon, I like the idea of a slogan. Especially if it's yours. I was one of the many commenters about it on ORS.com v1.0.

"Flat four, not flat footed." It rarely gets any more brilliant than this!

Spinners, the idea with country behind the address, would the countries be filled white of clear. I guess they will be white outlined and white writing, come to think of it.
