At last My dreams were filled and I build my own subamonster.
(sorry for my english)

-Forester 97 SF5,
-2.0
-turbo,
-AT
-250 h/p.

First step suspension lift.

-Strut Blocks + 2'.

-Springs rear Nissan Terrano +0.6'
-SG5 Forester struts + 0.6'
-Wheels BF Goodrich Mud Terrain 215/75/15 +1.3'

-Bullbar for fog lights.

-Breathers transmission and frond diff in airfilter box

-Sump protection for engine and transmission - steel 3 mm. weight 20 kg.

-Snorkel Toyota Surf 185

-Tank fog lights from russian tank. Xenon inside.

-4WD switch

I tried a spring from a terrano but the inside diameter is to small. The difference is 1 cm. It doesn't fit with the SF tophead. So he must have made some extra mods to get the terrano spring in his subi.

You're right
I use Bilstein PNE 3044 cartridge for the front struts. I cut top of the old strut and remove all entrails. Then I took a long pipe with the same diameter, and make a screw-thread on the one side of the pipe (all cartridge equipped with new nut in the pack).
You can use another broken strut just to get a pipe. After that I weld it to the strut and put inside pipe-spacer to lift cartridge inside the tube . Then I fill into strut 100ml motor oil to prevent a thermo shock and damage of the cartridge. At the end I put a cartridge inside the strut and screw the nut.

I do the same steps for the rear struts, but there I use KYB 365063 cartridges but few month ago I change them to Monroe MG256.

All dimensions of this cartridges are the same with our SG and SF struts.

The extended pipe and bottom spacer are only required as part of your lift right?

I have standard height so can I just tap the thread into the top of the old struts?

Do you know exactly which models of Audi these inserts are from?

Are they rebuildable?
