E.J.'s Foz

Finally got my stock '99 Forester a little dirty today in my buddies dad's bumpy pasture. Got a few mods coming down the line but I figured it would be a good idea to have a before to compare to the after. I drove it pretty conservatively today but had enough fun bouncing around the rough field and through some muddy ruts laid down by some more "serious" off-road machines.

I've got a Subtle Solutions 1" lift kit on the way. Also have a buddy making me a skidplate using Frogstars design. I know most folks would start with better tires but most of our OHV trails are closed January-March. I'll probably just be driving gravel/dirt roads until spring .

Lift good,Skid plate good,A/T tires good.

You know where River rock is?
I plan on going there sometime this year.

Installed the Subtle Solutions 1" lift yesterday. The installation was pretty simple, had help from a buddy with a lot of experience lifting Land Cruisers.

During, if I did it again I would have washed the car first;)

As Bumper says, you now drive a higher car ! :iconwink:

Let the modfest begin :)

Looks great E.J.

I can't wait for mine to arrive, so I can also (as Bumper & Kevin say) Now I drive higher car.

Nice Foz E.J! I'm not sold on the subtle lift, but I reckon it'd look a lot different in the flesh - and worth it.

Picked up a pair of these on the cheep, should be mounted up by Wednesday.
^ What are these in aid of? Fog or driving? I'm guessing fog, should go well on the front bar.

Cheers

Bennie

The lift is subtle but pretty noticeable IRL, I think I'll realize the real benefit once it's got some real off-road tires on it. The new lights are the fog variety, picked them up very lightly (ha) used for $75.

Directly to the bumper. I may trim some of the grill so they can sit a little farther back. I'd like to be able to still "bump" things with the bumper.

Got my PIAA fog lamps mounted today, bring on the night. Also did this other little "mod" that I believe gives me another 1/2" of ground clearance ...

Looking good mate, & don't forget to include the ORS sticker on your insurance policy too, as it's going to add lots of $$$ to the value. :)

Any details on the PIAA install? I'm hoping to do some lights soon, haven't seen too many mounted directly to the bumper. Looks nice and simple.
It's pretty straight forward. The bumper cover is fairly thick, measure twice then drill away. Take the grill off to access the underside of the bumper cover, I used large washers on the underside to increase rigidity.

Used the foz as a portable bicycle repair shop this weekend in support of an MS charity ride. Working out in the middle of nowhere beat the pants off of the zoo our store must of been that day.
Apologies for exposing my ugly mug, I'm getting a bit of a Chopper Reid thing going on lately:rock:
