In the process of getting the most out of my SH forester and came to the point where I’m looking at tuning, had the idea of a dpf delete in mind, obviously the legality isn’t ideal but nothing fun tends to be, having a deeper dive before committing to anything, just curious if anyone has any first hand experience or knowledge of others doing the same, any input is appreciated.
Cheers

I was offered to have the dpf deleted from my previous MY14 2.0D Outback when it was 99% blocked. From my memory this involved using a software to "trick" the ECU about the absence of the dpf. I wasn't sure about the details (source/security/stability etc) of the software and with the cost of roughly over $1000, I chose to have the dpf cleaned at about $600 which I was lucky that this was cleaned with no issue, as a replacement was roughly $1600 fitted; but totally understood this does not seem to be your issue.
From my memory I read someone had their Diesel Forester tuned with the dpf on in this forum.

Yeah had a chin wag with a tuner who does a lot of work on subarus and he said he’d get rid of any fault codes relating to the dpf along with his usual tune, all for the low price of $600, seems very tempting, just want to keep things as legitimate looking as possible to avoid any potential headaches, looking at it, it seems like my choices are bypass it with some piping through the centre, hole saw a hole through the middle and leave it at that, or just smash the entirety of the insides to tiny bits, the latter of the three would be easiest but I also feel asif it’d be easy to just knock on the thing and hear it’s empty if anyone was to go snooping, maybe that’s just a hint of paranoia :ROFLMAO:
