I have a 1986 GL 2D hatchback. My question is with a small modification to the center wheel can I flip the wheel for neg offset?

G'day & Welcome @Subiedad86

I guess you mean the "wheel center"? If so that would put extra strain on your running gear.

I mean to say the center of the wheel where it would mate the the hub. Thanks for the advice! I was gonna worry about the wear when I started going thru bearings but, I was hoping bc the car is light it wouldn’t be much different than spacers I run on my jeep.

Have you considered lug nut fit? If it's not correct you could end up snapping studs - I am not familiar with the lug nuts on an L series.

I was planing to do fit test to see just haven’t got around too it had to do a major fix on the frame. This is the wheel I figured if it was possible i would try and get stronger wheel studs. Probably a way better idea to just drill out the hub for a different pattern. Not to many wheels are 4 lug anymore. Just curious if anyone in the forum has thought of this. Seems like it’s not gonna work the way I think but hey I’ve been surprised.

The problem with ill-fitting lug nuts is that it allows movement which is almost undetectable until studs snap and a wheel falls off ;) I've seen it happen when on Aussie outback trips.
