Hey All, wanted to start posting up my build that going to be taking place over the next few months (maybe over the year). I have a 2005 Forester XT (5spd manual) that i have owned now for about 6years and now i bought a new daily, so instead of selling it i will be making it into a overland rig for myself and the family to go camping!
This is what I would like to do with the forester….
-tallest lift springs/strut combo we can come up with, then strut spacers and subframe spacers to accommodate 32-33”tires (or long travel coils, undecided on this)
-radius the quarters and fenders to accommodate 32-33” tires (not sure its possible with struts and spring combo)
-fabricated tube front bumper with winch
-fabricated tube rear bumper with spare tire swing out
-steel skid pates for everything, engine, trans, rear diff, control arms, trailing arms
-HD clutch either right away
-rear auto locking differential
-Ultimately you would want a Dual Range trans (not found in the USD market)
Manual 5spd. Selectable hi and lo range.
