Has any forum member made the above road trip from Yulara, NT, to Laverton, WA in the recent past in a 2WD vehicle/car?
I have no doubt that my trusty steed would comfortably achieve this BUT my SWMBO , no doubt, will come too and she DOES NOT camp out, especially in areas that this track will traverse. Hence our transport will be the "Palace on Wheels" which does not appreciate unsealed roads. I drive to conditions (generally) and a moderately rough road is ok but sand will be impassable for this sealed road vehicle only. Fuel range, diesel, is not a problem just general road conditions. Traveling slowly, if necessary, is not a problem either.
I would be happy to go alone in the Forester but having both wheels and accommodation at the WA end is beneficial.
So any comments re current road state will be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
