Hi! I want to buy a newer subaru that I could also modify to be an offroading beast. I'm not sure what year to buy and what model. I was looking at crosstreks, mainly the sports and limited trims with a 2.5i L engine because I would like it to be comfortably fast (especially on the highway). The main issue I have with the crosstreks is that they seem a little bit small. The outbacks seem pretty solid, especially in size but, can they handle as what a crosstrek can? I would prefer a subaru that is 2015 or higher. I have never owned a subaru and would like some advice.

If my 2006 Forester was stolen or destroyed, I would buy another in an eye blink.

Mine's a 2.5L NA EJ253, dual range manual.

Watch out for approach, ramp over and departure angles on Outbacks and newer Subarus generally.

If I did get a newer Subaru I would get an aftermarket bumper that has a better approach angle.
