There is a Subaru Club "stop & plop" trip to Stewart's Crossing in November and ORS members are invited. Craig @NoShoes has also arranged for SubaXtreme to invite their customers.

A beautiful camp spot at Stewart's Crossing on the Shoalhaven River is a perfect place for a swim and a relaxing few days under the shade of gum trees or on the small beach. This campground has NO amenities at all - no running water, no power etc so you must be self sufficient. There are toilets and I will be doing a reccie before the trip to check the condition. If there are no fire bans in place we will have camp fires at night so pls bring a bag of wood. Don't forget your swimmers, inflatables, kayaks etc. THIS TRIP IS TUESDAY/SUNDAY - come and go as you please.

ATM let me know if you are interested via the poll and I will call for contact details closer to the trip and provide further detail re the location.

If it’s going to be a stop-and-plop, I’m glad to hear the place has toilets…

@temmah Not yet; usually the trip leader will send out a communication a week or so before the trip. At this point everything seems OK for the trip to go ahead; recent flooding seems to have not affected the Shoalhaven.

I'm thinking while there we may do a trip into Braidwood; after all it's just 22 mins to Braidwood Bakery! There's some falls in the area and also some great lookouts to the South Coast on top of the escarpment.

Or I can sit around a fire and drink beer all day....

^ but that's my job :D

It's OK - I'm taking a kayak ;)

Won't find any of them in the Shoalhaven River; thank goodness!

@subyroo

Where is your sense of adventure....................?
I don't have one when it comes to sharks, I had a very narrow escape from one back 1969 at Shoalwater Bay.
I haven't swam in the ocean since, and very, very rarely get more than my ankles wet if and when I go to the beach with family.

Yeah I've heard the car sales people at Shoalwater Bay are a bit crook! :p

Kev, I wish they did have ALL car sales people at Shoalwater Bay, the Army could use some real live targets. :lol1:

I was in the Army at the time of that near miss. Some bloody big "salties" in the mangroves up there too. :eek: My Army mate who is Aboriginal and was from Rockhampton told our Platoon Commander that the bloody big slide marks down the banks were only Kangaroo's doing belly skids.

Rumour has it that another trip will happen early 2023 so stay tuned! Most likely Thursday or Friday thru Sunday or Monday;)
