We have developed a grinding noise rear left side when turning tight left. It can't be a wheel bearing given they were replaced about 3000km ago. The rear brakes and trailing arms were also redone at the same time. Obviously need mechanical help but what could the cause be? The bushings are shot but can't imagine they would cause grinding. What about a CV joint?

I would've thought a crook rear CV would make a noise all the time not just when turning left? I have heard that wheel bearings will fail in a relatively short time if not installed properly but it's more likely you would get noise from the right side i.e. the weighted side when turning left. I'm wondering if it's a rear diff issue. Have you checked to see if anything is caught between the rotor and the dust shield; try reversing for 4 or 5 car lengths - it may dislodge something that is stuck ?
