Hey All!

I’m looking to go over to Moreton Island with my stock 2015 Forester early next year. Looking to hear about people’s experiences on the island or somewhere similar and the stock forester capabilities. I recently asked this question over at Subsruforester.org but I’m looking for some more input.

Cheers

G'day & Welcome here @Lardz

I'll repeat my response from sf.org so others know what has already been said:

My Foz has many mods but those relative to sand driving are that it is lifted and has a sump guard. It is a 4EAT auto, no low range. Your Foz with its traction control features should do it easy - Subies love sand!
In this group pic taken just after we landed you will see my Foz and further along you will see a white Forester XT (door open) towing a rather large camper trailer and they had no problems

Hey @Kevin,
Do you think I would be okay with standard tyres or would you recommend upgrading to some all terrain tyres?
Cheers

As a Forester driver as well I would definitely recommend those Cooper Discoverer tires.

Can`t recommend Coopers at all. Had a very bad run back in 2008 with them. Ply separation and they did not want to know.
Maybe an isolated case but I won`t use them ever again.

G'day & Welcome aboard @vernonbain

@ateday I may have commented here on Coopers in the past but on one of my outback trips I asked a remote tyre shop about Coopers, "them's for city folks" was the response :D

@Kevin thanks man, really happy to join a forum with wholesome people, and as far as the Coopers concerns, I haven't had any issues with them on my rides. I think it just all depends on how you ride and take care of 'em ;)
