Oh soo tempting.
But which one?

$495.00 each.

Or even

But that's only available in:

"Framed Prestige - Brushed Metal"

for $2500.00.

Neither the price or the appearance appeal to me with the last one.
I don't think I'll put the text at the bottom of the other designs either. Might do that in a big banner sticker across the rear window...!?

I need to do other things first though. Vanity is the last bit I should worry about :)

I got my plates when you could nominate the first three letters for a one-time price; might have been something like $20-25. A mate's sister worked at the RTA and he called me as soon as this option became available so I got in early and the suffix I got was "004" so the fourth set in the series.

I got “BRUM3Y” on the brumby. Awesome, love them but can’t take them over to club rego, so they’re kind of wasted once that happens. I’ll probably put them over to the family bus with a little sticker beside it saying “I wish I was a”

Until then I’ll keep the brumby as my daily.

Ben, if you think that’s expensive, check out the price of a six digit number plate in Vic... then anything four digits or less you need to bid on for a week, starting at the six digit price tag!

I know of a vehicle that still wears its original metal pressed enamelled six digit number plate. Those plates are worth more than the vehicle they’re attached to!!

Cheers

Yes rumor has it that Stefan Ackeri, he of Stefan`s Hairdressing in Brizbanal, paid something like $1000000 for his QLD 1, or was it Q1, plate. True or not I do not know.

Not so sure I'd want "Q1"; maybe "ST81" instead. :p

(maybe this discussion needs to in it's own thread rather than Ben's journal)

Saw a plate on a Commodore ute today, wife & I were arguing about what it was meant to read.

TI33ER

I reckon it was meant to read TIGGER?
Wife & Grankids thought it was TIEEER, as 3's are normally used in place of 'E'. That just didn't make sense to me.
The way he was driving it should have been TOSSER! :lol1:

$2500 almost gets me suspension done the way I want it.. If you want to chip in for that I'm happy to accept.

You are welcome to my old strut top.........
I've seen a video where a bloke put forester (I think) struts in an SVX. didn't go to well.

Perhaps...

So... $495 on number plates, or $4950 on suspension & tyres (just did a rough costing, and that's me doing all the labour!)

In the scheme of things, once I've saved up enough for the suspension etc., the number plates will be less than 10% more! that'll be easy!!

(Mind you, by that time I'll probably have to run it on home-made ethanol because petrol will be illegal or summat.)

I think I should apply that logic to some of my financial decisions regarding vehicles ;)

Then try not to be shot by Mrs El_Freddo...

At the end of the day, suspension is very important for your vehicle and it’s safety/performance. It’s what could allow you to go fast in a very controlled manner around corners etc which we all know is fun. On the flipside a personalised plate is just an expensive piece of pressed and painted metal (that you can’t DIY) that is aesthetically pleasing and may impress some people you may never speak with about how good they are... You might begin to look at that personalised plate and think that if you didn’t buy them you’d be 10% of the way towards your suspension goal...

We got a coloured plate, which makes it easier to spot - for better or worse. But if we also had a personalised rego number there may be an annual fee on top in NSW?

Do what gives you joy.
