Ha, I'm renting a house with an attached garage now. But I don't have 240v receptacles in their. I do have a 110v welder for dinky stuff. But it's obscenely slow and makes for a lot of splattery welds. Ideally I'd have a high voltage welder and I'd be shooting off low amp welds for thin metal. I also don't wanna hammer a ton because someone's bedroom is above my garage🙃
 
I use plastic drinking containers from Bunnings. They’re 5L in capacity and fit well in various locations through the vehicle. I have one under each front seat and several behind the back seat and one in the rear floor storage space (L series).

Great little containers that are quite affordable. They’re thinner than the jerry can look alike counterparts which was initially a concern of mine but they’ve not been an issue.

Crazy they they fit under the seats!!! That's a great option. I have a collapsing 2.5 gallon that only lasted 6 months. I'm getting a replacement but only as backup. It'll be empty most of the time. But it's nice for bringing into public restrooms without clearance for the sink
 
No luck finding those tanks on eBay or a US based store. Shipping is really high from out there
 
The SG has rear ventilation outlets under the seats, and some big wiring under the passenger seat. Check these.

I use two padded US one gallon water bottles and a rupture proof 10L fuel tank. Spare fuel (~50-100 kms, depending) plus water for one for ~4-5 days. Absolute minimum in Australia. Plus some kind of emergency beacon (EPIRB, GPIRB, tracker ... ). It is not hard to die of thirst here in under 24 hours.

I've cut the rear seat in half for storage, so I've seen all the cables. My plan is to just put a rubber Matt over it and not have heavy things there...probably clothing storage or my light 500w solar generator. I haven't decided what fuel tank I'm getting just yet. I've had a 2 gallon tank for years but I don't think that's the tank I'm gonna take with me. I'm also going to have a water filtration system of sorts on hand. Nothing complex, maybe just a Lifestraw with a hanging bag.
*I plan on having a submersible pump in my water tank, with the option of adding a shower hose.
 
That's odd - a single rear seat back.

All Subarus in Australia come with a split rear seat, AFAIK. My 1993 Impreza did, and so did our SG and SH.
 
I wish it were already split but only the seatback is 60/40. I'm rarely ever going to have 2 passengers. I've lived here for 6 years and have only had 3 passengers in my personal car once and that was for an hour. I built my now dead Sienna camper to seat 4 but never had even a 3rd passenger in it.

Ah, now I get it. You have divided the rear seat squab.
 
Just don't disconnect any YELLOW plugs! They are the airbag/seatbelt control system, and are active for half to one hour after completely disconnecting the battery.
 
I'm good there since I don't have the side impact bags. I'm cutting the roof liner out and removing the seatbelt in the ceiling too. I'm putting a much thinner, but better insulating material up there that will also cut weight. I do a lot of camping well below O centigrade.
