I am now looking at wheel / tyre options.

The black rhino boxers (15") are what I'm leaning towards, but I'm not quite sure about the +15 offset.

Tyres yet to be determined, but likely a geolander go15 or similar. A wildpeak a/t terrain would be perfect but sadly I don't think they are available in Aus. Nor are the Conti terraincontact. (Open to suggestions - my use is mostly on road with regular trips onto gravel for MTB / camping in the ACT region.)

Does anyone have any experience with how far out a +15 wheel offset will place the wheel / tyre on an SJ?

Thx

At a guess +48 -15 = 33mm further out than stock (maybe?) Are you sure 15" wheels will fit over your front brakes?

Is it just that simple? I reckon I could check that with my trusty measuring stick and my thumb.

Re brake clearance this is from a reseller / the BR marketing spiel. Looks like they might just squeeze on...

Will clear Subaru 4-pot brakes (up to 2014) & most brake packages with rotors up to 300mm in diameter

The Black Rhino Boxer was designed by enthusiast and made for enthusiast of the Ford and Subaru off road rally racing genre. For the offroad overland Subaru vehicles such Crosstrek XV, Legacy, Impreza, Forester, Outback, and WRX, the wheel is offered in 15x7 size weighing in at a mere 16lbs! That means the lightweight wheel weighs approximately 3.4lbs less than competitors resulting in improved performance, steering response, and gas mileage.

Insurance companies do not like non-OEM rims. Reason: unlikely to be able to match if one is damaged.

Just a thought.
