Hi guys,

Anyone know or have any manuals anywhere which state the factory breakaway torque number of the older style clutch pack LSD units? I recently picked up an old Leone RX Turbo LSD and I have just tested it on the workbench to around 58 ft/lbs of breakaway torque. Unfortunately my google-fu is letting me down and I can't find the info anywhere. Assuming this is still within a healthy range it will be going into my L Series wagon as soon as the new diff pinion and moustache bar bushes I ordered get delivered.

cheers,

@Kevin Nope! I searched the interwebs high and low but never struck upon the information. I may have come close though, I found a mention on a forum talking about old Nissan/Datsun clutch pack LSD's used in the R160 they ran, and the OEM spec there was 65 foot pounds. I also found some suggestion that those LSD's used the same friction discs as the Subaru units. So in any case 58ft/lbs must be reasonably healthy I suppose.. I am not in a hurry to refurbish it, the only friction discs I could find for sale were going for $120ea and as far as I know it possibly has 3 or 4 per side!
