Spotlight wiring on 2020 Forester

I want to install spotlights on the ECB nudge bar on my new 2020 Forester. Subaru say they will interfere with the ‘adaptive driving beam’ and ‘steering responsive’ headlights and bring up fault codes. Can anyone advise how the spotties should be wired please?

The way I wired my light bar should work with anything. It only depends on drawing a few milliamps from the headlight circuit, at the headlight.

I can't see how this could cause damage to anything. It could almost be done using an induction trigger.

I believe the canbus system in the newer models causes difficulties with the ways we used to hook up aux lights

CANBUS screws up as soon as you think about adding or changing anything in the electrical system!

It should be called CAN’tBUS. I’ll avoid it as much as possible...
