Got new rhino racks for the foz today and added the kayak carrier from my sadly departed falcon. for anyone looking for a kayak attatchment this one is great in that it frees up so much of the racks for other uses. i had my doubts at first but it's damn strong, you can rock the whole car by pulling on the kayak carrier .

I just bought a set of Thule 'J' shaped kayak carriers for $50 from ebay. I think it's a similar design to yours.

Now all I need is a kayak!!

if they're the same sort as mine then $50 is an absolute steal! nice work! are you looking at a fishing yak? if so check out akff.net, Paffoh ind I are members there and there's some great advice on choosing the right one, not to mention some top deals in the classifieds.

yes a fishing kayak
probably looking to buy next year

Would there be a problem loading a yak when I have a roof spoiler on my foz like this one?

shouldn't be a problem if you load from the side but that does mean dead lifting the yak to about head height which isn't always fun. best bet is a mate to help you (and watch for fins on the water ;) )

An easier way to get the canoe on the roof is to take some 6 or 7 foot long lengths of 2" x 2" timber, position these at a 45 degree angle at the side of the car and slide the canoe up onto the rack...seen it done single handed here and it works...timber just fits in the car there and back.

or for those who love to spend money there's these from Thule
