I had the opportunity to camp on a friend of a friends property in Bathurst. Their property has the Macquarie river running through it and a nice place to camp next to the river.
It was my first trip with the AT tyres.
It was awesome to camp on a private property with no other people. No campsite idiots, just peace and quiet.
The track down to the river.
Set up camp just as the light was disappearing.
It got down to -4 degrees Celsius during the night, but we were prepared with good sleeping bags and extra blankets.
We woke up to a frozen tent.
Nothing better then a cold morning and getting the fire going again to make a hot coffee. Once the sun came
out to defrost everything it was a nice day. We had a very quick swim in the river.
In the afternoon we did a section of the bridle track. We took the Root Hog Road down to the Macquarie river
and crossed the river to get on the bridle track. We turned left and followed the track which soon follows the
Turon river. We followed the track, which is a pretty easy drive, to Hill End. then came back the same way.
Below is video on the way back, when we crossed back over the Macquarie river. (fast forward to 1:30 to see
the crossing)
All up it was a great trip. Last pic is of the AT's now that they have been broken in.
