I knew you guys had a big problem weeks back but this morning we Brits were subjected to Koalas crawling through flames on BBC breakfast, the images were repeated a half hour later and I had to leave the room with tears.
I cant imagine what some of you are dealing with .
On the flip side we are getting drowned in pomme hundreds of people are losing there belongings, homes and pets to floods .

So to sum up I wish you all a Happy , Healthy and cooler new year if possible , God bless
Will.

Thanks, Will.

We haven't had fires like these for about 50 years. Before that, 1920s and 1890s.

Sorry to hear about the floods.

All the best to you and yours.

John

Thanks Will. Yes very sad indeed that we are losing a lot of wildlife and livestock and the major fires are still out of control with possibly worse to come today & tomorrow.
I see that the floods over there have caused a huge amount of damage and yet they are increasing the amount of flood-prone land for new housing!

The fires aren't affecting us in the wet tropics.
Climate change is though. Dramatically. Several species on the verge of dying out.
But hey! We've got lot's of coal.
I'll stop now before I get incredibly anti-establishment.

Even Gippsland is being evacuated!

Even us here are waking up to this reality. Some places get off-the-chart rainfall and unleash the landfills, oooops! The media don't cover it because it hurts the 100% Pure NZ marketing campaign.

Anyway, happy cooler new year to all. God bless and kia kaha to our mates in OZ.

The 1939 fires in Vic are on par or worse than what’s happening down there now from what I understand.

Not good. I hope they’re copping some of this rain all down the east coast (I type this from my swag in Sandstone Point, neat Bribie Island, getting rained on ever half hour or so atm).

And @Lockheed - hopefully the rain we’re getting here takes away from the flooding you’ve got over there. Sad to say, but reading this threadfor the first time is the first time I’ve heard about the floods over there.

All the best!

Cheers

Bennie
