Are the mates in NSW all good and safe? Just read up about fire hazard there.

California is also in same season of fire hazard. So far, this year is "knock on wood" a bit less. ;)
 
I'm in suburbia with a small bushland about 800 metres away so should be no problems.

Nasty, we see the NSW fire haze when it's not raining here.

Central Otago is also burning 5x faster than usual but the intensity is not as bad as the one in NSW. The photo is from Reddit.

Some friends evacuated at Nambucca Heads yesterday. Staying with my big sister nearby.

Sydney goes on Level 2 water restrictions from tomorrow:
The biggest changes
Tick icon - large
You can only use a watering can or bucket to water your garden before 10 am and after 4 pm.

You can only use drip irrigation or smart watering systems for a maximum of 15 mins a day per watering zone, before 10 am and after 4 pm.

You can only top up an existing pool or spa, using a hose fitted with a trigger nozzle, watering can or bucket for a maximum of 15 minutes a day. You can only do this to replace water lost through evaporation, not to replace water deliberately removed from the pool or spa.

You need a permit to fill new or renovated pools and spas that hold more than 500 L.
