Can anyone please provide me with information about the Exhaust Gas Reticulation (EGR) configuration (vacuum actuated, ECU controlled or non existent) for the SF Forester 2 litre?

I have looked at parts manuals, and workshop manuals, and it seems to me that there is no such thing in the 2 litre SF Foz. Earlier Liberties with 2.2 litre motors had a non wired vacuum actuated EGR valve, and later 2.5 models had a wired EGR valve very similar to the EZ30 gen 4.

The reason I ask is that it is apparent that the previous owner of my vehicle deleted the EGR valve fro the EZ 30 when it was installed in my SF Foz, and this is creating problems for me in reducing Nox for emissions testing. I am looking a retrofitting an EGR valve, and was hoping I could pick up the old (original) plug on the loom, but it seems there might not be one. It seems to leave me with 2 options: install an EZ 30 EGR valve and do completely new part of loom to Vipec ECU, or retrofit an old school vacuum actuated EGR valve. I'd like the 3rd option of picking up the old SF loom if that's possible.

Any info at all would help

My '97 eudm 2 liter SF has no EGR, sorry, can't help.

Dulagarl,

try plugging your VIN into partsouq and have a look at the diagrams to see EGR configurations.

You could also give Al at Allied Performance a buzz, he did the original conversion in your SF and would have custom made the wiring loom, so would be the best bet to give an idea of what's needed

Yeah I could, but he’s done stacks of conversions and might not remember.

from what I can see there’s nothing on the loom
