What obd reader are people using to monitor their vehicle while driving. Any info would be appreciated.

We pair our eBay ELM bluetooth OBD2 module to an Android device for diagnostics. We don't use it for additional feedback while driving but any decent, usually paid app will give you good GUI while driving. The free ones give you the numbers but the paid ones usually add another gauge or two while driving.

I am using iOS at the moment so if I will do the monitoring, I will need the WiFi version.

If you really want to go hardcore with monitoring your Subaru, you can try FreeSSM: FreeSSM - Complete access to your ECM and TCU. It can even monitor how much torque is transferred to the rear while you are driving. You will have to build the kit yourself and install the program to a Windows or an Ubuntu Linux computer. It can also be used to program ECU and TCU behaviour. Be advised that the software hasn't been maintained for quite a few years now but is and downloaded by many, according to the download link. Cheers.

I have both a dongle coupled with Torque Pro on Android and a Scangauge II.

any cheap one will work , and will do all stuff that you need on android torque pro app. reset codes easy peasy and lots good info you never knew about some other stuff.
just my advice not keep OBD2 socket in there it is because its very in bad position to knock it with leg, just take it from it fixed place then connect module and hide it between all other cables , its safe then ... i knocked it couple time before put it away inside ...
