It was nice to get together and meet everybody. We had a great time, no major damage, great weather, nice trail. Got some video, sorry about the quality though. Still trying to figure out the new camera ;)

And away we go... Talk about a perfect day, cool weather but warm in the sun, no thunderstorms... Definitely was busy up there though! Got a chance to show off to a ton of people, the looks were priceless...

IMG_1794.jpg

We've had a few afternoon storms here and there, enough to keep atleast some water in the regular puddles. Everybody took full advantage....

My trail damage, dang thing rattled off right into my lap. Of course, Karla is ever ready with the camera...

The dirtbike riders were having a good time watching us go thru, I think once they saw the Subarus go threw with ease they decided to give it a go.
The one on the blue Yamaha about lost it in the middle! LOL.

Fun rut to play in. If you take the right line even a stock Foz can get up it without too much fuss. Subacool opted to take the line I took, and while it took him a while, he did manage to make it! It did cost him his OEM mudflap...

Pinkmud hopefully learned to put her TIRES on the big rocks so they don't go under her car. I think it was dragging this rock that taught her!

Oh man, this FJ was a beauty. There group was staring at us as they pulled away, managed to talk to the passenger in this one. I yelled: "When my Forester grows up it wants to be your FJ!" She had a good laugh and waved.

Puddles have the ability to ensure permagrin especially on the faces of new offroaders....

Nice loose trail to go down, just play follow the leader! Dash was very good and patient picking the easy lines. I promised him we'd go back up this Friday and he could try some harder ones.

Brian had excellent wheel placement for a complete offroad newbie, I was very impressed! I didn't have Pinkmud behind me, so unfortunately I wasn't able to watch. Subacool's an old hack and a very impressive driver, no need to watch him!

IMG_1864.jpg

I offered to take everybody over to experience what it's like to have 2 diagonal wheels off the ground, Brian and Pinkmud were all about it! BOINGY BOINGY BOINGY!

IMG_1867.jpg

"I don't think my car is supposed to do this!" -Pinkmud [with a massive grin on her face]

IMG_1868.jpg

Subacool opted out of the two wheel fun.

What a fantastic day! I think everyone had a great time, I know Dash, Karla and I did. Will be scoping out Apex probably this Friday, hope to have another gathering soon. Two choice quotes that really summed it up:

Brian: "I am doing my best to get everything out of my second childhood!"
Karla: "ooooo I hope they get addicted [to offroading]. Please let them get addicted. This is fun with friends!"

Once again we have Smash, Brian, Pinkmud (Jessi, Troy and dog Bubba) and Subacool.

Yes yes, we have a few videos. Karla stuck mostly to still photos tho as Subacool's wife Lisa was all over the video camera!

If you get stuck, or do anything even slightly embarrassing, Karla will get it on camera/video. Believe me.

None of the puddles were very full, but I was just glad they were still there!

There's so many things I want to quote you on, Smash, where to start...
The mud flaps; I haven't damaged the mud flap, the rock I rolled into just helped me getting it off (I couldn't get the plastic clips off prior to the trip). It was intentional, a planned modification to our vehicle (the other side came off with a little grunting too) Btw, I've got a set of mud flaps for sale, anyone? ;)
Spending time in the rut; what I learned from my racing with the SCCA: Invaluable seat time

I resent that remark! I'm not old, and you DO have to watch me (I'm fun and unpredictable at times)!!! :bananapartyhat:
The two wheel see-saw; it was ultimately my wife's choice to opt out (hey, gotta keep the Mrs happy, it's got its perks :raspberry: ). Plus we've had plenty of two wheel action going on on the trail (including a time I had to rock the car from my seat to regain traction  ).
Nice pics and video!

Awesome-ness!!! Wish I could have been there, might have had to jump ship and go play with the Yota's though.:iconwink: Wonder if I know them from some forum or another???

Looks like it was a great day, and glad you finally found some friends Smash.
