My HN7 was dying straight away when not plugged into a power source so I replaced the battery which was easy enough; just removed the 4 tiny screws holding the unit together, snipped the wires from the old battery then joined, soldered and heat shrink covered the wires from the new battery . I used a Polymer Lithium Ion Battery (LiPo) 3.7V 2000mAh product # CE04378 from Core Electronics $22.90 with tracked delivery. This has more capacity than the original battery. It's now a very happy GPS and a very painless process!

Great, Kevin. At $600 plus, wouldn't you think it would be easier to replace the battery than that ...

I believe they expect you to send it back to the factory to replace the battery.
