Sun roof issue

My forry has a motorized sunroof that is not happy. The motor wants to work, but there is something not right. It seems that something binds, anyone had a go a repairing their sunroof and any tips.
 
Try checking lubrication as they often get dried up because of the Southern Hemisphere UV intensity. That is also an issue here even with different manufacturers. When I had my Toyota Scepter, I had to make sure that the rubber won't stick and that the mechanism is well-oiled.

Oftentimes, when the rubber sticks or the mechanism locks up and the owner keeps on trying to make the sun roof work, the motor gets burned and will have to be replaced. Cheers.

Have a read through this thread over on the Subaru Forester Forum below, it maybe of some help to you.
It might also pay to you make a copy the info for future use too. I normally just copy and paste the info into a Word.doc and file it away for future ref.

What's the exact problem with the sunroof stephendean?

My Outback has got a sunroof as well. Couples of months ago I started realised that it didn't open every time I press the switch, or it just opened a little bit and not to the full extend.

I thought I might get it checked before the extended warranty expired so I brought it to a Subaru mechanic (not dealer) to have a check. The mechanic apparently opened up the sunroof and found nothing wrong. They then greased it up and it's all fine now.

Sorry it might not be of too much help to fixing your issue though.
 
It seems my motor is okay. It seems to stick and not move. I will try and post a pic of video to see if you guys have an idea.
