Solar Panel Protective Layer Peeling

As per the title the clear protective layer on one of my solar panels mounted on the roof top camper is peeling. Does anyone know what that layer is and could I just paint some sort of poly coating over to restore that layer?

Nano coating is the go these days, and it affects production from the little that I have read.

This is what I found in one of those links which may be a clue "aftermarket solar panel nano coatings often require re-application every 2 to 5 years to maintain optimal protection."

Yes I saw that mate. The second link seems to be a product to do just that.
