I was trying to convey; that if I hadn't rolled back a bit I would have had a nice wheel in the air. Pledge Dude didn't know the video was on...

There was trail left and right, I chose the right then decided I wanted left, backed over a stump and got stuck with a wheel in the air , backed up a bit to get some momentum and mangled my muffler in the process...

Nothing came apart, but I was lucky, carry some coat hangers or similar wire with you in case you need to repair an exhaust system as a temporary measure...

The rock at the top of the mountain, just after I'd gotten myself off the stump, big rock with lots of room to play and have some more attitude...

All videos by one 9yo videographer or another, not the best but do the trick.:)

Anyone who attends our Fall Pisgah Meet will have the opportunity to go here on the day following the meet, a stock Subie should be able to do this trail no problem, could be a lot of fun!!! Come on out Y'all!!!

I HAVE to do this trail when I come down for the fall meet!!! and from what I saw, should'nt be a problem with a stock forester, I'll have my skidplates anyway, maybe a lift if lucky. and by november I'll be on winter tires so gonna be better than all seasons. man I can't wait!!!

ROFLMAO!! I love your dude outings. I'll show Karla your rocking video, I know she'll love it!

As soon as I saw that line of puddles in front of us, I thought of Karla.:) There are also a couple of mud holes to play in, but last time I did I spent about 4hrs cleaning so I stayed out of them this time.

Then we WILL go there!!! One reason that I made this trip was to recce for the meet, hopefully we'll get some other takers as well. Another thing about this place, maybe you want to camp here over night if you have time, it's home to the infamous Brown Mountain Lights, as featured in an X-Files episode many years ago.

 great! rather sleep with the lights(and whatever comes with it!) than the bears we have here ! though would be cool to see the lights. I could answer them with my roof mounted lights!!! bytheway, do you know of any civil war confederate soldiers cemetery around that region? I love everything about the civil war era(I know it's funny coming from a canuck) and often leave my truck at the truckstop to go biking and occasionnally find a confederate cemetery. talk about a spooky place to be in on a foggy day, like when I was at the resaca one in georgia! i'll check on the web for them. hum, camping beside a confederate cemetery while seeing the lights, starting to think "motel6" !

Don't know of any cemetery's, but just yesterday my pop was showing me a pic of this battle field. It's a bit out of the way, but it is on the way to Brown Mountain from here. I did a bit of poking around on the internet and found the North Carolina Civil War Sesquicentennial web site which you might find of interest. There was also a battle somewhere here near Asheville, but I'm not sure exactly sure where it took place. If you can find anything you want to check out, let me know and I'll see if it's practical.

I found some in north carolina but did'nt check if they were in the area, but they're "too nice". I like the tiny spooky ones like the resaca,ga one.
anyway it's not the reason of the trip :iconwink:. Let's go offroading!!

Your Welcome!!! And, I'm happy to report that with my new muffler installed, my fuel consumption is back to normal now and might even be a bit better than before.:) They also fixed all the exhaust hangers I'd broken off on previous trips and now I have a few less rattles as well.
