Hi all, I'm new here and need advice.
I have a 2011 Forester XT (4 speed auto, 2.5 petro turbo) am I able to fit a snorkel on my car? And if so where can I purchase one from? Thanks in advance.
Marc

I used a Suzuki Vitara snorkel on my NA. There would only be some small differences for the air intake / filter.

I like the look of that, If I was doing the snorkel again on my SG I'd go for minimum exposed intake. (does that make sense?)

@Beachworm, did you have to cut through the frame?

I am thinking of the minimal snorkel that those people from the "Power of Your Brains" channel fitted. That one is low-profile.

That was my main reason for choosing that particular snorkel. On the SH, the shape of the guard (flared over the wheel arch) makes it difficult to get anything to conform to the contours. There is also a sweet spot to take the intake through the guard where you have enough room to fit the 3 inch flexible pipe without cutting anything other than the guard.

The only cutting was the hole in the guard. I loosened the bolts that attach the guard to the car and partially removed the plastic guard lining, temporarily, to give me a little more wriggle room to get the flexible pipe in place but other than that you would think the snorkel was made for the SH. It doesn't fit the contours of the guard perfectly but I made a silicone gasket by filling the gaps with black silicone so it has a seamless connection to the panel.

It does look good!

Beachworm BTW your pics from the album won't show unless you set it to "public" rather than "private"; or "something" has gone wrong with the links. I've added them temporarily.

Thanks Kevin. How do I make them public? I just added them to my album and cut and pasted the url into the insert image thing.

select the album title / top right corner select "edit album" / in the middle bottom choose "public" / click "submit"

Thanks, Beachworm. I am going to look at your setup if ever it's time for me to fit one on my car.
