After pics will be fine then :iconwink:

I bought this today:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/180799410...84.m1439.l2649
:discomonkey::monkeydance::newmulti::banana:

Using e-go couriers, seller is going to drop it off at the depot for me (saves me 25% on shipping) & I'll pick up from courier this end (saving another 25%) so shipping will cost only $60 :woohoo:

Then all I have to do is make up some brackets & whack it on!

Well done, mate. Looks like a super-terrific deal all round ... :lildevil:.

It will go very well on your Fox.

Thanks guys...I'm pretty chuffed I got it so cheap, plus the seller is being very helpful :newmulti:

I still have a few hassles ahead, like how to get it home (have a cargo barrier so not inside, prob just tie it on the roof rails), but mostly either tracking down & buying the mounting brackets or manufacturing them myself. Then of course fitment can be fun as Barry can testify. & there's no guarantee it will fit, it is for a '02 Foz, although I'm pretty sure (desperately hoping lol) it will.

But the hard part is over...finding a bullbar that I can afford

Thanks go to Taza who found it then decided he didnt want it which gave me an opportunity that I pounced on like a rabid jackal on carrion :monkeydance:

Yeah it was pretty cheap lol. Only one other bidder I think. Its missing the mounting brackets so most people dont want that hassle. I dont really either lol, but beggars cant be choosers :iconwink:

Gidday Folks

My L/arm and shoulder are finally getting a bit better (but still wearing a sling to remind me ... ), and this is the first day without taking Panadol all day.

So I gave Roo2 a bath and installed the new GPS in a rough and ready manner.

Then went for a swim and cleaned the pool a bit, as around 32°C here ATM.

BTW, the plastic engine under-cover (I flatly refuse to call it a "sump guard" ... ) is still in one piece, AFAICT. Seems to be a whole lot tougher than it is given credit for. I haven't had a grovel to inspect it, but will next week some time.

Great to hear that your arm and shoulder are feeling better

It's a strange, yet very different climate we live in down under isn't it :)

It's boiling over in the west & you're starting to fry where you are RB. Yet it's coolish here in Sydney & a little wet.
Then, if you venture a bit further north, theres floods..... again :(

Regards
Mr Turbo

RB glad to hear your shoulder is on the mend.

Mr.T do I dare mention climate change? (no, no, hushshshsh) :raspberry:

Saw on ACA (I think) last night the council parking inspectors were booking those who had moved their cars onto the curb to avoid getting their vehicle flooded. One was even booked for parking his car on his own drive (but outside the fence line) citing he "was blocking access to the property"! His own property! :madred::yell::furious::eviltoyou:

Gidday Mr T & NL

Thanks mate. I hate taking Panadol during the day. It makes me feel even worse than usual! Panadeine/Panadeine Forte + Valium at night really makes me feel like I have a hangover the next day; so a trade-off between feeling RS from not sleeping; or feeling RS from the medications ...

BTW, when I was a drinking man, I almost never got hangovers. Could never understand why people who did drank alcohol!

It is a big country with a basin in the middle. These are identical weather patterns to those of my youth, which was just a bit after the huge Solar Maximum of the 1950s. It caused widespread flooding and drought, same as the huge one in the 1880~90s did.

The massive Solar Maximum of late 1990~2002-ish that has apparently now ended is the biggest ever known, AFAIK. That's for the last 2.4 Bn years or so, anyway .... What made it even more spectacular was that it followed hot on the heels (pun intended ... ) of the very large Solar Max of the late 1970s/early 1980s. Seems to be rare to have two large ones so close together. BUT, what would we know? Upstart Chimps ...

RB glad to hear your shoulder is on the mend.

Thanks mate. If I just keep on typing, I'm sure to screw it up again ... :iconwink:.

Mr.T do I dare mention climate change? (no, no, hushshshsh) :raspberry:

Of course there is climate change. No one I know, or know of, disputes that. What is very debatable is whether humans have anything whatsoever to do with it.

Of course, we are buggering up this beautiful planet by polluting it with both toxins and humans; BUT that's quite another issue.

The hottest period in recent history was from 1100-1400 AD, when the CO2 levels were at the same levels as now (approx. 350~400 ppm), and average temperatures were 3~4°C hotter than they are today.

From about 1400-1810 was the "mini-ice age", but CO2 levels were about 10x higher than what they are today ...

That's about right!

I have had a parking inspector give me a ticket because I was parked in a disabled spot (while displaying my disabled permit ... ).

I assume that the parking officer was relying on his advanced medical training, and eye-balling me from however far away he was, to adjudge that I must have been fraudulently using someone else's disabled sticker ... Apparently he reckoned that my doctors must have been wrong to sign off on the disabled permit application form. Funny how the Docs also reckon I need a class 1 permit, rather than "just" a class 2 permit.

Did I get a letter of apology from the Council? No.
But they did withdraw the ticket " ... in these circumstances ... " with a dire warning that I should watch myself in future ...
Bunch of mongrels.
:mob:

I finished the first stage of my stereo install.... Head unit and Front speakers in! I'll put up some photos of the head unit soon in my journal even though it's not entirely finished but you'll get the idea ;)

Great, mate. Always satisfying doing this sort of thing IMO.

Me too. BUT every time I win with these mongrels I reckon it makes them that bit more wary about picking on someone else, who may not have the knowledge, skill and inclination to take them on. Sort of a moral duty ...

Got my Subie service manual today, $24 from fishpond, incl post. Took a while to get here though...

Also gave Oswina a wash, the obligatory mud in the wheel wells plus I found a heap under the back bumper & under the rails. Noticed one of the plastic rail trims is a little loose :(

Also squirted the little hairy buggers living in my mirrors with some bug spray...that'l learn em!

I use my manual for even simple things that I know how to do (eg Radiator swap) just so I don't forget something simple like... unhooking the negative terminal on the battery :iconwink:
They're great for those simple reminders when your brain is lacking caffeine during a procedure as well as guiding you through the more complex things of course

I use an outside surface spray (Mortein).

Use the nozzle provided, and immediately wipe off any that gets anywhere on the outside of the vehicle anywhere with a sponge with (say) Turtle Wax on it. I suspect it may be more corrosive than Coca Cola ... and the latter is worse than paint stripper and brake fluid, if somewhat slower.

This treatment seems to keep the little buggers under control for several months at a time on both our cars.
