What have you done to your car today?

Put in new iridium plugs & new leads yesterday. 1 lead had the metal end bit come off as I pulled it off, funnily enough that was the only plug that looked healthy! The others look dirty & 1 has some carbon buildup.

2 of the leads are fine but the 2 with the right angle ends dont fit properly...the metal bit sticks out past the boot so the boot wont go all the way on the coil! :(

Will have to get some different ones & bring these back.

Put a new fuel filter on. took Rally's advice & let it sit overnight to remove pressure. Could NOT get the hoses off! 1 of em was a little damaged so I just cut the *******s off & put on new hoses...easy

Got some new wiper blades for the girl, it just started raining and yet 2 days ago it was 44c degrees. lol

Went sky driving yesterday also and could see my foz parked at my house. God it looked small

The foz is running great other than needing some more SUEC to clean her out. Will do it next week when im in Perth and before the beach run the Subie 4x4 club of WA is having :) Only thing is she is drinking the oil like no tomorrow, topping it up ever few days.

Yeehaa :monkeydance:

Also fixed a losing coolant problem. Had noticed it had been pushing out coolant as it heated up but not sucked it back in as it cooled. Result was overflow bottle overflowing (ironic hey!
rolleyes.gif
) & level in radiator getting lower everytime the engine heat cycled.

Solution was a small 1" long bit of hose on the overflow outlet pipe on the radiator, then pushed the old hose on over the top & secured with a proper screw type clamp not the crappy old squeeze type.

It had been sucking in air instead of coolant.

Worked well so far....

Did you change just the rubber inserts, or did you change the arms aswell & go for the aero type ?
If you don't already use it, add some Rain X too. It's great stuff & makes a hell of a difference also :iconwink:

It gives you quite a rush doesn't it
I'm guessing you did a tandem jump, or did you do the AFF course jump ?

They were just rubber inserts. $11 or something like that. I still have the stock arms, whcih are missing all thier paint and starting to rust :(
Are the areo types good?

I seem to go through alot of the rubber inserts, maybe a set every 2-4months. I always use my cleaner sray and wippers to get all the bugs off after long trips and this seems to wreck the blades.

Yes it was a tandem jump but still fun as hell

They're great :) A little pricey but in my opinion worth it :iconwink:
The Bosch Aerotwins that I got last time lasted for almost 3yrs (2yrs + 9mth)
Couldn't find them this time round :sadbanana: but if these ones go the distance like the last set, I'll be very happy

I finally got round to doing an oil and filter change, been trying for the past few weeks. One of the most satisfying jobs I think, as it always sounds so much better.

For the first time I tried some upper engine cleaner, not much came out of the exhaust so must have been pretty clean. That said, does seem to be a little smoother when you put your foot down.

Had planned on doing the rear diff oil, but that will have to wait until the weekend now.

Back to work tomorrow having had time off over Xmas & New Year, think the early start will be the worst part........ Any way- Happy New Year everyone!!

The deep cycle battery finally mounted in the rear compartment and charging via the new wires I ran 12 months ago!
So, now cold beer, meat and milk is assured for my trip to the Murray with my bro and our respective 'billy lids'.
Will up-load pics when I get a chance.

Cool (pardon the pun)

Its on my list of to-do things...

My aircon unit started pouring water into the passenger footwell, its busted where the hose connects :( Atleast the passenger hass nice cool feet until I can get home and fix it.

Also used 3 cans of Subaru upper engine cleaner while here and there is still heaps of white smoke coming out, each time the engine seems to run better and better though.

Currently sitting at McDonalds in the Foz using their free internet. lol

Taza- how could that hose have broken- it is just a dump hose that dumps to the engine bay side of the firewall near the floor?

mudflaps yaayyy

haha nice

Like those wheels too

You have exactly the model that my Foz wants to be when it grows up ;)

Maybe cos it gets so hot over there?

I bet someones inadvertently kicked it...

Thats what I thought.

I was thinking the same thing.

I know you've had a fair bit of work done to your Forry lately.
From the timing belt, water pump, valve seals, cam belt kit, compression test etc, etc.
Perhaps it happened when some of that was done

I bought some led light strips off e-bay & wacked them on my Forry today.

Blue Fox gave me the idea  however I did mine a little different :iconwink:

Now I have some daytime driving lights together with a little :bling: aswell :quitar:

And the best part, it cost me less than $10 all up :woohoo:

Fixed my aircon unit. Was dripping water into the passenger footwell but the drainage plug was all blocked up due to them(Subarus) not coming with air filters for the interior fan/aircon. Just blew all the junk out with a compressor and all was good :D

Drove 800km today home too.

Yesterday - Convoyed with about 17 other Foresters offroad. Pics to come!!!

Thats quite a roll up
Can't wait to see the pics of that :raz:

With all the talk recently about cabin air filters, I thought I'd better check mine & give it a clean aswell. I can't believe it's been 18mths since I last gave it a clean

I knew it would be dirty, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be :iconwink:
