We bought wrx 2 years ago.
It was almost standard car, UK spec, tuned to 257bhp on dyno, sport cat, poli bushings in rear.
I was buying it with jerky clutch so it was cheaper.
I wanted to change oil, but luckily plastic plate didn't have hole for oil filter.
Taking it down and I can see few rusty places in oil pan that are slightly covered with oil, scratching it with finger and 2 holes came out... "moments before disaster" pure luck.
After this I pulled out engine for:
-belt change, +WP+ all seals
-oil pan change,
-valve clearances checked,
-oil pipe in front of engine changed,
-installed exedy clutch kit,+crankshaft seal
-oils.
We drove it like this a year and started to think about lifting it.
I made some synthetic 2" spacers+1"trailing arm spacer, followed with bigger wheels 215/65r16 Michelins Latitude cross.
I made disconected sway bars lately from this forum topic. Really makes a difference offroad.
I want to swap transmision for dual range one, as it's plenty of this stuff here but dunno if it will go with power.
I'm quite calm driver so I'll give it a try if the box I came across will fit.
I'm thinking of doing some more lift but not with this shocks as they are stiff(KYB UltraSR), maybe going with 4 audi 100 c4 shock inserts.
I want to make some skid plates.
PS I'm not good at editing vids.
https://youtu.be/nF_eyUD7gG0 - turned back as second car had bad tyres and it was getting late.
https://youtu.be/irxHCjyBFKU
https://youtu.be/xZBpExfUaGU - raining for 4 days.
PPS It's mostly illegal to go offroad, only roads that are on maps as ground or gravel roads are possible.
