Hey there all,

I'm the proud new owner of my first subaru! its a 2008 outback! and can't wait to take it down bush tracks and fire trails.

I bought the car this Monday just gone (17th SEP) and want to put a small lift on, 30mm or even 25mm would be enough. I'm planning on having 215/60R17 Bridgestone duelers as well. The tyres will add about 15mm or so to the total roof height so the lift can't be more than 35mm because the car will then be more than the legal lift height of 50mm in Western Australia.

So i've tried asking everywhere i can and can't find much. Mechanics ether don't want to help or don't care about my dreams of lifting my outback so i went online looking for parts and this is the closest i've come to a lift kit.

So basically the questions i have is do i need new shocks or will the OEM subaru ones be ok with king springs, will i have to also install longer camber/alignment bolts and if so am i better off going with something more like this

Join the Subaru 4WD Club of WA, heaps of experienced people there who can help you out!

Lift Kits, there are a number of Vendors, with SubieLift Oz, ADF, Subtle Solutions being the main ones
 
Buy Australian! (SubieliftOz) Gotta be cheaper than the Yanks at the moment :)
 
AFAIK there aren't off the shelf longer shocks to go with the lifted springs. That means the shock travel won't quite match the spring travel. But heaps of people run that combination anyway. The King springs will be firmer, so I would recommend them if you load up heavy or want a firmer ride. If not then I would recommend the Subilift Oz spacer kit. The 2" spacers tend to be easier to fit then 1" spacers as they don't need to replace the standard studs with longer bolts. The 1" lifts with out camber offset get OK wheel alignments, but not ideal like the 2" camber/caster kits. So a few things to consider depending on what you want out of it.

thanks for all you input i have decided to go with the 2 inch lift from subiliftoz, i have been in contact with Matt over there and he is very good at what he does.
Red XS - thanks for your info, I have gone off your recommendation and opted for the 2 inches mostly for the ease of installation and to keep ride quality, only thing is im putting in saggy butt spacers to give a little bit more room for weight.

Had these tyres a year ago, I was happy with them !
 
i bought these tires that were mounted on a set of 16inch toyota 86 rims for $400 Aus.... general grabbers ... yet to try them off road but i knew my limiting factor was road tires . will be disconnecting my drop links for my next adventure
 
They are very good tyres, only concern is the fragile sidewall, and also a bit slippery on the wet.

I like the bull bar with the light bar as well. I'm thinking I'm going to keep my bumper and put a nudge bar on with some spot light

I'm also going to be putting on some A/T tyres I'm going with these. (Wanted to keep stock rims even though couple of them has pretty bad curb rash)

I've spoken to matt at subilift oz again he said I will be able to put a mother half inch spacer on the rear for only another $30 so I'm thinking I'm going to do that so acout for camping gear in the back.

nice look. subarus looks better with AT tires. not too much agresive here but not bad.
so how much ground clearance you got now front middle rear diff. ?
