Ok, my car and sanity thanks offroadsubarus immensly...

The rear bar is getting done as we speak (For only $3k with the works), the exhaust will get tucked away after but I really want to bite the bullet and lift it (Yes yes, I always maintained I wouldnt kit it ). Its got raised Kings and while I dont need massive ammounts of lift what do you think are good alternatives? Should I just get a 1'" strut lift to add additional height to the 30mm Kings or should I go with 2" all the way, topping out at 50mm? Or perhaps a body lift? ( I dont want to upgrade my springs again ). I like the sound of the first option but have had trouble contacting Scorpion Subaru and was advised to stay away from High Rise. Sent an email off to ausubaru (BYB) and no response either.

Will a new set of expensive shocks do anything?

I will be buying a house with the missus soon so need to spend it all now, as once thats bought I will be lucky to afford petrol!

What would you do and who would you call?

First, take it out on a few trips as is then decide.

Is the car sitting level with the +30mm springs? Do you carry heavy loads when out & about? I would probably go at least the inch and possibly 2" in the back.

You know if you get 1" all round eventually you'll find yourself in a situation where you wished you had the 2" strut lift!

I would wait until your current shocks fail before replacing them.

if you keep rasing your springs your going to loose to much down travel which is bad:( you could go the custom struts which a member has done before, but that cost 4K all round:neutral:, go the the 2" from Scorpion. as Kev said "

" and their kit is strut lift and body lift.;)

Ye pics are a good idea, will try and get some decent ones showing clearance,

Nobody got back to me about a lift kit via email (Scorpion, AU).

Woe is me... lol

Ok some news...

Scorpion emailed, said no longer doing 2" but ask in a month (???).

Jackson Rally emailed, out of stock 1" but more next week (!!!).

The Jackson Rally stuff looks the goods, bit expensive though. Reckon thats the way I will go, im a keeper so if its not enough ill exhange down the track. The 1" with raised springs should give me what I am looking for.

Get in touch with Subi Wan Kenobi on the Au forum, he's the one who does the lift and will reply as soon as he can.

Cheers

Thanks Freddo,

Will do...

EDIT : 2" lift paid for, awaiting delivery!

Wooohoo....

Cheers guys,

Took your advice Freddo and got in contact with Ausubaru via PM. Immediate response with a 2" strut lift quoted at $350 delivered. If you guys cant tell I am a spend junkie so Jackson Rally 1" will still get ordered too. Will pick which one I like best and whack it on the car, other will remain as an option.

Anyway, paid for and a couple of weeks wait...

<rubs hands together>

Ok, the Jackson Rally 1" has arrived!

Dunno when I will get a chance to install it though.

Looks the goods...

You got the two just to have an "option"?! Thats a bloody in-genius way to do it! You'll be well skilled in swapping lifts in and out depending on what you want for the weekend's activities :P

Cheers

So the kit you got just chocks the struts, nothing else?
I see the scorpian one does engine, crossmember, centre bearing, etc. Is just a strut lift fine, or is the full body lift better? What better for longevity etc?
Sorry bout all the questions, just will be making purchase soon also.

Lol I find it strange that people say they have trouble getting onto scorpoion subaru as everytime I need something I get them straight away. Also about the strut blocks, they got the kits from suba xtreme but now that they no longer supply lifts they've had to look else were or making them themselves?

I did eventually get hold of Scorpion, took 3 emails till I did though. Scorpion said they were no longer doing them (As of a couple of weeks ago), they did however say to send them an email in a couple of months, pretty sure Dizzle you got a set of the last run. As for Subaxtreme they arent doing lifts and palmed off that service to Scorpion, if this is the case (Which it is) it only leaves High Rise or AU Subaru in Australia (And they only do blocks for struts for Foresters anyway).

My 1" are getting fitted next Wednesday.

Others will answer this better than me, but will attempt...

My Mechanic thats installing them has concerns over the additional 1" on top of my 30mm Raised King Springs. His worry concerns with the increased lift are driveshaft angles, swaybars and possibly tierod angles (can increase bump steer).

I am sure the complete body lift would be a better option but far more $$$.

Who has got the full shabang here? Anyone?

So I'm guessing the Jackson Rally 1 inch is only strut blocks?! IF thats the case I can see why your mechanic is worried about your CV angles with the 30mm raised springs - these blocks will increase your CV angles too far and will cause premature wear/destruction.

The body lift (as refered to as "all over lift" in a previous post) will allow you to still use your raised springs - what the body lift will achieve is to push all your running gear and suspension down from the body. This will give you better approach and departure angles as well as better clearance under the "belly" of your subi. To make the most of this you might have to get your exhaust tweeked a little to sit up near the underbody of the subi - so it doesn't hang out like a set of dogs balls waiting to get snagged on the first rock you climb over...

The body lift will not gain you any overall clearance - this is governed by your wheel diametre and spring lift. The lowest part of your subi will be the sump guard and the rear diff. You will be able to fit larger tyres without worries of rubbing the guards - at full lock could be another story though as some rubbing may occur.

I'd put my money on you loving the 2 inch lift in your foz - you'll be amazed at the difference it'll make - I say this from other subi's I've been in that are lifted (as I don't have lift myself... YET!) with larger than standard diametre tyres.

Cheers
