Helo,
This is my subaru impreza Gl 1.8 full time 4x4 with manual gearbox which has Hi and Lo gears. It has no lift kit but I've done some off-roading with it.
I wonder if there is a way to lift it and are there lift kits for this model? The problem is that I live in Bulgaria (Europe) and here there aren't any shops for subaru's lift kits.
And can I make mysefl a lift kit?

:welcome:kamenkachev!!!

You might be able to get a bit of a lift switching to Forester struts, that would probably be the easiest and least expensive. We also have a DIY lift kit thread in the suspension section of the forum, you might have a read through that.

Your car looks great, and feel lucky that you have the dual range gear box.

Probably the forester struts would be good, Should lift it 40mm or so. They're just standard KYB's so should be readily available.
If you were serious you could put some packers under the subframes and on top of the struts to get a little more clearance.

Lift kits for the first generation Foresters should fit. They are based on the floor pan, and mechanical package. I know of a sedan in Victoria (Aus) that has Outback struts, and a Forester lift, giving it about 3 inches above normal. A few others here may have seen in, or pics of it on the old ORS v1.0 forum.

Beigewagon.

feel lucky that you have the dual range gear box.

Especially since its an impreza too as the early model impreza had the low range closer to the L series' 1.59:1 low than the standard that is now in all subarus since the liberty - 1.19:1, which is almost point-less for offroad use!

There'll be a lift kit available at a cost, but with a bit of work and some welding skills you could knock one up yourself.

Cheers

Bennie

Thank you!!! Really usefull imformation... My impreza now has new paint (same color). I fixed the fenders because there was rust on them a couple of holes. BTW my uncle offers me a subaru justy 1200 4/5 doors for just 2 beers :woohoo: sounds like a deal...

i would LOVE to have the dual range, didnt know you could get it in a impreza

you can do a lift yourself with not a HUGE amount of work, if you did 2" you would not need strut spacers, just Forester struts and blocks for the body.
there are 3 lift companies i know of:

US:
SJR Lift https://www.sjrlift.com/
they mostly only deal in EA model stuff, but will usually make anything you ask, thats were im getting my strut spacers from eventually

OZ:
Scorpion Subaru https://www.scorpionsubaru.com/product.htm
Hi-Rise Subaru https://www.funonwheels.net/hirisesubaru/pages/libertylift.htm

which BTW, people should spread the word about these companies, very few people outside the few Subaru offroad forums know they exist at all.
