what models of soobs have th D/R trans in them?

some of you have seen my intro post & know that I wanna get myself a sooby I just basically wanna know what my options are for getting a D/R sooby

oh & I prefer wagons & hatchbacks
not too keen on bruby/brat
I also prefer the older models

i think they stopped the dual range in 2008??? only the H4 N/A had them

Just had a quick look on the Subaru Australia website and it seems they are still there... As far as I can see, dual range continues to be an option on manual models only (H4 N/A).

Cheers,
Pedro.

On the earlier models, I think most manual Lseries had dual range, not sure which models didn't.

The MY's were all D/R in the manuals as far as I know - there are 2 wheel drives out there too, but usually in the coupe or sedan...

The L series are mainly D/R in the manuals, you will find some single range units (they have a 4wd button on top of the gear shifter) and some front wheel drives. The wagons are typically 4wd but I have seen the odd front wheel drive. Most of the sedan L's (leone's) are front wheel drive but you do occasionally get a 4wd unit, the turbo's are D/R 4wd but the low range on this is the same as the liberty (EJ) - crap.

EJ low range is 1.19:1
L series low range is 1.59:1

With a bit of work you can put the L series into the EJ AWD box.

With the EJ's make sure its a dual range AWD box, it should have the two gear leavers like the D/R 4wd MY's. And to be sure, stick your head under the back of the car to see if there's a rear diff there. Also be aware that there are single range EJ's out there...

Hope this helps you out ;)

Cheers

Bennie

thanx ppl
I've decided to look out for a D/R 4WD manual MY hatch or an L series touring/superwagon
now to see if any wreckers have a reasonably good condition complete car that I can take off their hands
