Firewall access

Hi guys. I want to wire up my ham radio and I need to run a wire through the firewall. What’s best spot to run the wire. I have a 1986 DL.

Via the wiring the runs down the side of the car, there will be a horizontally mounted grommet in each rear corner - have a look near the window wiper motor.

One side will be packed out with wiring, the other side will only have a couple.

Other wise if you remove your mud guard (fender in the US) there's also another big grommet on both sides of the vehicle. This is a great spot to run wiring through if you've got enough to go that way. I've run my EJ wiring through these and it's worked a treat!

I have to remove the fender? Sounds like a lot.

I was able to pull wire thru the clutch pedal grommets.
