It seems to reason that the pistons could be different if the angle of the valves are different between the DOHC and SOHC heads.
You would have to look at both pistons to check the angle of the reliefs in the top of the piston, if these check out the next thing to look at is the distance from the guedgon pin hole to the top face of the piston.
The other issue you might come across is the piston not being within specified tolerance in relation to the size of the bore due to wear. You'll have to measure stuff up to ensure it's good to go.
