I decided to take off my stock plastic sump guard yesterday, partly to see how easily (or not) it could be done. Turns out it is quite easy and the only tricky thing at all was getting the 6 plastic clip thingies out and back in again. So, 4 screws and 6 plastic clip thingies. Please advise me of the technical name for the plastic clip thingies!
Just in case anyone is interested I took a picture of both sides as I don't recall seeing a picture of the stock sump guard for a 2016 SJ Forester.
I also took some pictures of the engine bay from below, so if anyone did want to see these let me know.
