Just wondering if anyone here has been diagnosed with diabetes and has had problems with their eyes? I have just recently been diagnosed with diabetes (also high blood pressure and cholesterol) and just started on the medication about 10 - 12 days ago and my vision has gone blurry over last 4 days. I thought it was the high blood pressure pills so had them changed, but no change in eyesight. I am wondering anyone else has experienced this.
And to top it all of, the subby is sick as well. And I might have to get rid of it for another vehicle, probably a $500 bomb as finances are very low and my work has been cut to a quarter of what it was. Hopefully Steve at Rising Sun will be able to breathe life back into it.
Cheers

You best go and see Dr Quack. I wish you well for your health. And the Suby too.

Sorry to hear this stephendean. All the best to you and the Subie. I hope you can get everything sorted out soon.:)

Diabetes you have to watch your eyes, any sores that wont heal, and thirst.

I have some issues that put my eyes at risk so anytime i have an eye issue i dont hesitate to go to the eye Dr, and I'm sure yours will tell you the same thing.

Good luck.

Having an eye issue at the moment so have an appointment with a specialist to see what needs to be done. Thought it was the Blood pressure meds so doctor changed that but there is no change. I am looking at the world in soft focus which makes driving unusual.

It's scary stuff, but as long as you are sensible and follow the best advice, there's no reason it will cause long term problems. Just keep your BSL under control! Good luck to you and the Soob

Yep you should see a eye specialist. If your diabetes been going for some time before diagnosis, its the eyes that show up first any sign of damage. Surely your doctor would have sent you for a eye checkup ?

On the other hand, its very easy to get a misdiagnosis, you should get at least 2 tests, with prior fasting periods.

If your a smoker, quit that **** out now:poke:

The body has a remarkable ability to heal itself if you give it half a chance,
you started the right steps i guess, so good luck and cheer up.

Have be referred to an eye specialist, I already wear glasses so my eyes changing did nt seem unusual. Having another set of tests at the end of the week. This should also see how the variety of medications are doing. As they all interact with each other. That's the problem with being diagnosed with a few things at the same time.

Still have the blurry vision. But I am seeing a specialist this Monday about my eyes anyway. So hopefully they can throw some light on it. I think I would prefer to go deaf than blind.
