Day Trip: 6 Foot Track

Day trip to the Blue Mountains. Hartley to Lithgow along the 6 foot track.

Heading towards Cox's River.

Generally the road was in good condition. a few small ruts

Suspension bridge over the Cox's river.

6 foot…wow, thats a short trip !

Lovely part of the world, know it very well.
Was born in Katoomba and lived in Blackheath until I was 16 when I left and went to Uni.
Grandparents had a small retirement farm in Kanimbla Valley near Marsden`s Swamp.
Spent many (pre Subaru) hours wandering around out there.

We had an old holiday house on Gordon Ave in Blackheath when i was young. Some good memories of walking around the bush as a young kid.

Should have bought land and houses there when I was young.
Would be worth a fortune now......
Gordon Ave, I vaguely remember that name. We lived right up the northern end of Wentworth St almost in the bush. Had a great view of the frequent summer bush fires.

Did you go in via I think it's black range road?
Interested in doing a trip out there to some higher trout fishing.
I take it that clearance was no issue.
Last time I done the track was on foot. About 9hs streight through to Katomba station lol.

We went via GWH / Cox River Rd near Little Hartley. Ground clearance is not an issue. Its actually a very easy drive.

Yes, and they are a different species to porcupines:

But all curled up it could be hard to tell
