Hi team,

After cleaning my car after a spot of heavy mud driving, a longish trip which necessitated stopping multiple times to gouge mud out from between the tyres & guards to allow progress; I have found the wheel well liners on my 2015 outback to be quite 'punched out' and deformed by the large amount of thick mud which accumulated and was pressed into there.

The front plastic liners in particular appear to have torn a bit past their mounting holes.

Do I need to repair/replace them or as I hope is there Nothing To Worry About (NTWA)?

(Also any ideas on a tool or scraper to hook out such mud- I'm thinking of making something):)

Regards Bill

You would probably need to at least put something there to protect the wells from stones etc during "normal" driving. Could try black mastic type silastic which, I would think, be a relatively easy, if somewhat messy, task and a lot cheaper than the genuine replacement plastic item.

I do not know if new ones are needed but if they are OEM fender liners are cheap and easy to install. I replaced one. The fender liner was like 25 or so usd plus whatever clips are needed. Maybe 40 total.

I vaguely recall those of the B9 being a little deformed by mud but nothing dramatic. Usually all these plastic items just go back in place with little effort.

That includes the front bumper cover, lol.
