Hi Guys and Gals,

I am a newbie and need some help.

Just bought a Subaru Brumby/Brat with an EA81 motor and she has a leak from the crank case bolt on the drivers side (right side Oz left side USA). I have tried to torque it up, but no movement at the required torque so didn't want to push it.
What options (simple) do I have, could I remove that bolt and washer and then put it back in with sealant and a new washer? I think if I try to remove it I will need to use some force (perhaps my cordless Ryobi impact wrench) or is that a no no??
Any simpler methods would be great.

Thanks
Barra

Hi Folks,

Pulled out the bolt, cleaned up the leaking bits around the whole, put on some sealant and put the bolt back in, torqued it up and leak is gone, one less job :)

Thanks Ratbag,
So much useful information. I'll be posting another query soon, this time relating to CV joints.
Cheers,
Barra
