Paint fading

Have a Blue 2007 Outback. The paint on the rear spoiler and top panel of the tailgate are very badly faded. Wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. Thought perhaps it may be caused by sandblasting from travel on dirt roads. Or else perhaps just poor paint job on these plastic parts.

Very common issue on the 04-09 models, especially the Urban Grey and Dark Blue ones.
A polish with compound and rotary buffer (without cutting too much) helps to bring it up followed by a heap of wax and polish frequently to keep it protected.

otherwise, they're pretty easy to remove and have re-sprayed
