2010 Outback

Seems you blokes are getting a different car to us. I have seen the photos of our Liberty which we will share with Europe and all I can say is I hope it looks better in the metal. Considering the current Liberty is far and away the best looking Subaru yet made ( and even looks good for any car), they have obviously found the bloke with the guide dog and given him the new job of chief stylist. Obviously, Subaru are severely lacking direction and quality inspiration. Perhaps it is time to stop freely distributing the drugs and find someone with talent who can make nice looking motor cars. They don't have to be Aston Martins but Holden have shown with the VE Commodore that inexpensive cars can look good.

I don't know what drugs these designers are on, because to me, it's just plain fugly. :puke:Is it just me or does the back end look look a shrunken version of the first Tribeca.
The only thing it has going for it is better ground clearence & a larger petrol tank.

Regards
Mr Turbo

Electronic handbrake? Yet another unnecessary complication. Bet it won't let you do handbrakey's either! I am thinking of starting up a group called, "Bring back the Throttle Cable".

I'd prefer cables instead of computers and potentiometers. I like to have control of my car, not the other way around. :) I must admit since I've seen the first pics the new design is beginning to grow on me a bit.. but I still like the 05-09 designs better. I'll stay open minded until I see one in person. I'll take one for a test drive also, to see if the driving experience has changed..

No doubt, but I still hate them with much passion

Cables will rule again

If anything 'nuke' ever happens we will all be looking for 1800 / 1600 Subies and old VWs to drive. All cable and carbie, with nothing electronic to die, other than the radio.
The old cars will work fine until the fuel runs out. :raspberry:
(Note to self: Where are the photos of the WW2 Beetle with gas producer up front? Maybe it could fit in a roof pod on an 1800 subie wagon.)

I like it.

Looks much better in the flesh than in pics.

Released here officially next week I think.

I had a drive of the "poverty pack" with CVT last week - very impressive.

The top end "Premium" model has all the bells & whistles and is incredibly comfortable.

New Liberty is good in the flesh and the Liberty GT looks quite mean - and by all accounts has the grunt to go with the looks.

I'm currently up for a new vehcile, and find myself tossing a coin.

Stay with the occasional off road venture and grab an Outback to replace ther Foz - or go back to being the "boy racer" and grab the Liberty GT??:lildevil:

At age 66 its a terrible decision.

I'd say Liberty GT :lildevil:

Although an Outback Diesel is tempting. I haven't had a look at the new Liberty or Outback yet. I'm hoping to soon though. Have to wait until 2011 until we look at these seriously when dad's lease on his Accord is up.

Nice foz as well:)

They have a couple down at Parramatta Subaru.
I took a drive down there and had a look.

In real life this is truely a remarkably good looking and well apointed vehicle. The clearance in real life isnt as good as whats in pictures but I would say that its at leaste as high as what my 2006 Outback is with its Lifted King Springs.

Very well layed out dash and just a nice pleasant place to be when you sit in it.

Boot seem smaller than mine but all in all I liked it.

Ben..

personally i like my 05 legacy/liberty better. i don't know what to think of the CVT.

i've seen them up close and it didn't really impress me... i think the test drive would do wonders for it though... too modern-esque for me i think...
