Tried a search but couldn't find anything from the forum.

Long story short - has anyone got any experience on the Mishimoto 2015+ cvt transmission cooler on non-wrx vehicle; ideally diesel outback?

Talked with stechnic (wa) and they don't have the experience as yet but they reckon its an extremely good brand.

My query is will the 2015+ wrx cooler be suitable with my 2014 cvt diesel outback?

What was their opinion about fitting one up..?

What was their opinion about fitting one up..?

Stechnic said cvt doesn't generate as much heat as traditional auto transmission but definitely no harm to have cooler installed - particular towing in summer which is what I planned to do this christmas.

Regarding the Misi cooler, they only said this is a very good brand and would be good if I can get one as they never dealt with cvt cooler b4.

Doug and the guys know what they're on about.
I'd source the cooler/ kit, etc and take the lot to them to look after.

Then get in touch with Christian from CrispMods and get that diesel tuned.
mine is awesome after the ECU tune.

Where is CrispMods? Does your car use more fuel after the ECU tune; and did it cost much?

I have been considering MRT but not sure how much better the car would become after the tune, and of course whether it works with CVT or not.

Christian travels everywhere, or would have a dealer in WA I reckon

He has an Ebay Store or on Facebook

But with 25% more torque for a much bigger part of the rev-range it's a far better car on the road, and not so peaky to drive,
you don;t need to hold the throttle to the floor before it decides to go as the "In-Gear Torque Limiters" are lifted.
i.e you put your foot down and it does what you tell it.
I've not hears a set of howling all-terrains from wheel-spin for a while.. :D :D :D

Also block off the EGR and disable the error codes so you're not filling your engine with soot, straight from the exhaust.
the DPF runs hotter faster when you're pulling uphill.
this has the effect of cleaning out the DPF without needing to activate a full regen as frequently

so far, fuel consumption is down by about 5%
my last trip this weekend was 600km with the car full of touring gear, mixture of 110km/h highway, then some gravel roads and a couple of tracks was 7L/100km
previously that kind of trip would be around 7.8L/100km

my car has oversize all terrains, the roof basket plus the bash plate which all stuff up the aerodynamics and consumption a LOT.

Give him a buzz and have a chat

Sounds brilliant outcome from the tune! Will talk to him! Thanks for letting me know.

Got the feedback from Mishimoto which states that they cannot confirm whether their 2015+ CVT transmission cooler would fit my car as they have not designed or tested that cooler kit for the particular application - fair enough.

Drove the car to show Doug in Stechnic and he reckons the transmission cooler that (factory) comes with the car is already huge enough for my application and no need to change/upgrade. Really good service!

For sure Ratbag, I didn't know my car has a factory transmission cooler until very recently even though Subaru Australia had told me about this already :poke: and I wasn't sure whether the transmission cooler is good enough until Doug had a look at my car. Huge relief :newmulti:
