ok I am asking this on another forum as well so here goes lol

my r/h front tyre is wearing uneven, its taken out the inside edge badly [tyre is scrap had to fit spare].
the passenger side seams ok
so what would cause one wheel to do this but not the other side??

any thoughts

ive checked the damper and cant find anything worn ether [balljoints etc]

It is possible for just one wheel to be out of alignment.

If it is out of alignment enough, the tire can wear down really fast.

Have you had a wheel alignment recently?

check your suspension bushings - especially the rear lower control arm.

It is most probably a wheel alignment issue. However this could be caused by a suspension issue so it is worth thoroughly having the suspension checked first and then a wheel alignment done.

ok humour me im having a blond moment lol

how can I check the suspension on the car, I cant find any leaks off the dampers and all looks well, without stripping them off is there another way?

you don't need to worry about the dampers/spring bits, what you need to worry about is the rubber bushes that hold the suspension arms in alignment.

As has been stated above:
- when was your last wheel alignment?
- have you whacked anything since then ('bent' arms etc)
- have you been rotating the tyres regularly?
- Visually inspect the bushes - the rear LCA ones look cracked &/or leak goop when they're broken. Check for signs of cracking, damage or perishing in anything else.
- put the car up on stands and give the wheel a good wobble in both planes (vertical, horizontal) to see if there's any unnecessary play.

If you don't understand the above - take you car to a mechanic, wheel alignment or suspension shop and explain your problem

Our Subarus are exquisitely sensitive to any kind of misalignment, be it arising from wheel alignment or from suspension wear/damage.

That having been said, Roo1 only had one wheel aligned (out of four ... ) in 18 years and 234K kms. That was at around 230K kms. It was checked at Michelin's expense around 200K kms, but was perfect then.

RonnyRoo chopped out the P/S front tyre recently - minor misalgnment of all the wheels, but that one in particular.

I can only echo the thoughts of others - have suspension, steering and wheel alignment checked by a specialty shop.

the last aligment was about 2k ago, cant think of any bumps as the last few months have been motorway use.
but I think I will find a good local mechanic who can do 4 wheel alignment as you say.
much appreciated gentlemen :)
