Alpine Region

Hi all,
Im thinking about a trip across the alpine region (when its warmer) from Sheep Yard Flats near Mansfield up to the Bluff hut then across to Howitt Planes and maybe down to Crooked River. A bit ambitious I know but was wondering if anyone with a Subaru has done this area before- can it be done ? I'm sure if you picked the right tracks it could be.
I've been up to the Bluff Hut in a mates outback with not too much trouble but would like to take my Forester (stock standard) further.

Shouldn't be a problem, some decent alterain tyres willl make a world of a difference though. If in doubt walk it, if still in doubt look for an alternative route.
