Forester/Outback exhaust swap

I'm looking at doing an exhaust swap on my Foz because the catalytic converter is dead.

The first gen Outbacks '96-'98 have the headers going the same way over the engine as the turbo Foz's, so thats pretty cool.

That would give 3cm more ground clearance with no other mod.

I'm going to see one of those Outbacks next week to see if its doable and might buy it for cheap…
 
Went to see an Outback, think it should work but the exhaust line was just…dead too !

I will probably adapt a Forester gt exhaust or wait for another Outback...
 
Fixed my oem exhaust, the mods will be made another time...
 
My exhaust is rusted just behind the second cat. I've welded it but i will have todo a more serious repair within a few months. I'm thinking to remove the second cat and weld in a flexible part. Don't know if the CO measurements at the yearly safety and environmental check will be a problem.
