Wondering if anyone has taken out the air intake noise containers on there car. ie k&n delete mod.

Which car and model, CW?

Be very careful modifying those snorkuses and tuning pipes.

They are all fundamentally important in determining the correct airflow and turbulence characteristics in the intake manifold.

They are tuned like a musical instrument, and mucking around with them can cause your MAF sensor to go toes up and cause serious engine damage along with performance problems ...

yes it's a popular mod for the turbo engines. Power gain is minimal without further mods but will increase the intake noise and BOV psssshhhh noise.
I've put in a cold air intake with K&N pod , so definitely no water crossings for me

Snorkus delete or deresonator mod works well on Subies with a MAP sensor such as a SF Foz and on turbo Subies, but a few have had issues with later na Subies with a MAF sensor.

It has nothing to do with the filter used but with resonant frequencies affecting the MAF sensor readings which affect the AF ratio.

I've done it on my SF Foz with great success

I have taken out the snorkus box and piped in a snorkel

^ The change from MAP sensor to MAF sensor happened with the change to the EJ-253, Kevin. SG series II and on.
