Nudge Bar Coming!

Well, I'm very excited because at the emd of this week I will be picking up my new nudge bar.

Have decided to go with an ECB nudge bar. Weighed up my options and after talking to subaxtreme and ECB, got the best deal by far thru them. Going to cost me $525 for the bar and I will fit it myself. When you look at the price of the subaxtreme one and take into account delivery and then getting it fitted properly, I am going to be way ahead.

I found out the other day that my model forester (03 XS) was one of the only models that you can't get side steps for. Would anyone on here know if that was right or wrong? Does anyone know of any being made as I would really like to get a set on mine.

Will put up some pics of the car when it's all done.

I'm guessing that you are not going offroad, otherwise you would not be considering side steps. If indeed they are not available, it is because there is no demand.

Hi Geoff, just wondering which model ECB nudge you've ordered? I got a quote from ARB in Hobart for the ECB 63mm Series 2 Nudge bar and it was in the order of $750 not incl. installation.

For that kind of money i'd rather save for another year and have a custom HD bull bar designed for my MY07 (given no body i know of makes them to suit MY07's).

Hello Geoff,

I do have a 03 XS too . I think Kingsley makes running boards called the integra or something for foresters 04 to 06. I am assuming 03 and 04 are the same. Personally I think these boards rather limit you from offroading.

SubaXtreme make full bars for MY07 Foresters

From what i can gather they only do the ones with the moulded front bumper. not only do i hate how they look but can't see that they do the same job as the old HD ones as per some of the members here have.

Do you know if anyone does an HD style bar (as per pic below) for MY07's?

I probably won't be doing any serious off roading. Really want the side steps to help with putting the kayak on the roof etc. (and I like the look of them!)

A couple of the companies I have spoken to tell me that the 03 Forester was the only one they didn't make steps for which is very strange. This is why I thought I'd put it out there and see if anyone had heard otherwise.

I agree about the "poor" looks of the moulded option from Subaxtreme and also share the same concerns about their efficiency...

Don't believe there's any other option though :sad:. But happy to be proved wrong!
